Ishan Kishan and Jasprit Bumrah played a lot together for India and Mumbai Indians.
Since his return to Team India, Ishan has registered scores of 76, 28, and his maiden T20I hundred with 103. However, Kishan admits there is one bowler he still finds extremely difficult to handle—Jasprit Bumrah.
Kishan revealed a story about Jasprit Bumrah that Ishan is sure to irk the Indian speedster.
Ishan claimed that Bumrah, who is known for testing hitters all over the world, is equally tough on his own colleagues, who are not immune when the Indian speed spearhead gets competitive during practice sessions.
While talking about strong bowlers, Kishan brought up leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal before expressing how intense Bumrah can be even during practice.
“Among spinners, I find Yuzi bhai [Yuzvendra Chahal] tough to play; I think he’s figured me out. In pace, I mean, no one is better than [Jasprit] Bumrah bhai. Let me tell you a story. Bura maan jayenge. (He may feel upset) that I say this everywhere. When we practice, we often get different wickets. Some will be grassy, others will be dry. But whenever it’s grassy, usually the bowlers go easy on batters, but Bumrah doesn’t believe in it. If a batter middles the ball, you know he’ll bowl a barrage of bouncers later," Ishan was quoted as saying on the 2 sloggers podcast.
Apart from the Indian team, Kishan spent a lot of time with Jasprit Bumrah in the IPL, when the keeper-batter played for the Mumbai Indians.
