Phillips made 90* in 48 balls in Otago's 41-run win over Central Districts.
Phillips was playing for Otago against Central Districts at Molyneux Park, Alexandra, on December 30.
Otago captain Luke Georgeson won the toss and chose to bat first. Phillips came out to bat at no. 4 with the team at 47/2 and unleashed some entertaining shots. He changed his posture in the middle of his innings and didn't appear to be uncomfortable at all.
Phillips shifted to becoming a left-hander and ripped through the field with a combination of boundaries and sixes, combining switch-hits with conventional drives. Surprisingly, Phillips seems more comfortable with placement than pure power, contradicting his reputation as a power hitter.

Phillips made 90* in 48 balls with seven fours and four sixes as Otago made 193/7 in 20 overs. Already considered one of the most versatile players in New Zealand cricket, he expanded his batting repertoire.
In another viral video, Phillips is seen taking a left-handed stance at the start of the over. The bowler bowls a wide delivery, but Phillips manages to smash it over the covers, and the ball sails over the boundary for a six, much to the amazement of the crowd and even the commentators.
