Chahal missed the final of the SMAT 2025 where Haryana lost to Jharkhand on December 18.
He also missed the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final, where Haryana faced Jharkhand in Pune on Thursday.
Chahal posted a health update with his friends and fans before wishing his squad the best of luck in the next domestic T20 final.
“Wishing my team Haryana all the very best for the SMAT finals. I wished to be a part of the team, but unfortunately, I am down with dengue and chikungunya, which have really taken a toll on my health. The doctors have asked me to focus only on rest and recovery. I’ll be back to the field and bowling to my full strength soon,” Chahal posted on X.
Chahal did not specify a timetable for his return, but the leg-spinner is expected to make his comeback during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which begins on December 24. Chahal has not been selected for India since the T20 World Cup last year, and he has not played for the senior national side since August 2023.
Chahal was also retained by Punjab Kings (PBKS), who advanced to the final of the IPL 2025 season, for the next IPL 2026.
