Punjab Kings reached the final of the IPL 2025, losing to RCB.
Another IPL franchise, Delhi Capitals (DC) was ranked fifth in the list of the five top trending global searches in sports teams.
The ranking demonstrates the degree to which supporters have bonded with the team's players, performances, and brand identification during the previous 12 months. This increase in awareness also comes after PBKS, led by Shreyas Iyer, had an outstanding run to the IPL 2025 final.
It was their first appearance in the summit clash since 2014, although they narrowly missed the title, losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six runs.
The global ranking, according to Punjab Kings Chief Commercial Officer Saurabh Arora, illustrates the emotional and cultural space the team has created with its supporters.
He pointed out that although the team's goal has always been to win on the field, what really sticks out is how much supporters connect with the narratives and identity the team presents. Being one of the most sought-after teams in the world is a humble accomplishment, Arora continued. He claims that the list demonstrates that viewers are actively involved and emotionally invested rather than only observing PBKS.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals took a humorous route and posted: “Yahan bhi 5th”
