Sooryavanshi took the UAE bowling attack to the cleaners.
Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gave another glimpse of his extraordinary talent in India A’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 opener against the United Arab Emirates in Doha on Friday (November 14) as he slammed a breathtaking hundred.
Opening the innings, the 14-year-old launched a brutal assault on the UAE bowling attack right from the word go. The southpaw reached his half-century off 17 balls and took 15 more deliveries to notch up the three-figure mark.
Playing his first T20 match for India A, Sooryavanshi scored 144 runs from just 42 balls before being dismissed. His whirlwind knock was studded with 11 fours and 15 sixes.
With this innings, Vaibhav became first batter to hit century in a T20 match for India A. Before him, the highest score for India A in a T20 match was in the name of Ajinkya Rahane, who had hammered 79 runs from 63 balls against the West Indies A team in 2012.
The 32-ball ton by the youngster also helped him become the joint fifth-fastest batter in the world to score a century in a T20 match.
During his explosive knock, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shared a 163-run stand for the second wicket with Naman Dhir, who contributed 34 runs from 23 balls.
India A skipper Jitesh Sharma also returned with a swashbuckling 83* off 32 balls (8 fours and 6 sixes) while batting at No. 4, propelling the team to a gigantic 297/4 in 20 overs.
