Virat Kohli has scored two ducks in two matches in ongoing Australia ODI series.
Former India cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin's newest X post has had fans wondering if he simply advised star batsman Virat Kohli to retire due to ongoing troubles, following the latter's two consecutive ducks against Australia, a first in his ODI career.
Under duress, India's standout batsman Rohit Sharma combined grit and grace in a 97-ball innings on a spicy surface, laying the groundwork for India's total of 264/9, which was at least 25 runs short of par.
Thanks to half-centuries from Matt Short and Cooper Connolly, Australia won the game by two wickets in the end, taking a 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
While Rohit fought, Kohli was removed without scoring for the second time in as many matches. He was preparing for an outswinger, but Xavier Bartlett got one to move in after pitching, and Kohli was caught right in front.
After the Adelaide One-Day International, Ashwin uploaded a mysterious photo of the emblem of the well-known sportswear brand Nike.
Ashwin's post was 'Just Leave It,' leaving fans wondering if the remark was intended for Kohli. Most of the fans asked the former if the remark was intended for Kohli.
However, a user pointed out that the phrase might potentially refer to Ashwin's legendary leave in the 2022 T20 World Cup group stage game against Mohammad Nawaz, in which he bowled a wide and deftly left to level the scores.
However, there were multiple fans who felt that Ashwin took a veiled dig at Virat Kohli’s two ducks in the ODI series and signaled that Kohli should call time on his ODI career as well.
