IPL 2018: Match 32- DD vs RR : Five talking points from the game

IPL 2018: Match 32- DD vs RR : Five talking points from the game

Delhi won the match by 4 runs (D/L Method)

By Kunal Kataria - 02 May, 2018

Delhi Daredevils won the match by 4 runs (D/L Method) against the Rajasthan Royals at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, New Delhi. Rishabh Pant was awarded the Man of the Match for his exceptional match-winning knock that actually set the temperament for Delhi to handle Rajasthan a mammoth target on the board in a rain halted match. Team Circle of Cricket gets down to list the 5 talking points of the match.

DD's vintage batting performance
Delhi Daredevils batsmen had very a convincing day on the field after scoring 196 runs in 17.1 overs. The top order was in looking full aggressive to hit those massive boundaries all over the park. The likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant came in to destroy RR bowling in full destructive mode.

Young Prithvi Shaw grabbed everyone's eyes after his exceptional knock that set Delhi's batting on fire. Shreyas Iyer, the captain continued to thrill the bowlers with Rishabh Pant taking the aerial route. Rishabh Pant was once again magnificent after hitting those huge sixes for his that he even snatch orange cap to his name. He scored a brilliant quickfire 69 off just 29 deliveries to lead his team to such a big total.

While International players like Colin Munro and Glenn Maxwell again failed to execute, going back very cheaply in the dugout.

Disappointing performance from Rajasthan bowlers
Rajasthan bowlers had a very hard time to bowl Delhi Daredevils as they conceded a lot of runs. Each of the bowlers was taken around the park by the Delhi batsman as it was yet another disappointing performance from the Rajasthan bowlers.

Bowlers like Jaydev Unadkat, who was roped in by Rajasthan Royals at a heavy amount was heavily charged, yield 46 runs from his 4 overs quota. If you are paid a high amount for your bowling skills then it must be your responsibility to stick to the line and length. Other bowlers too were demolished deliberately.

Jos Buttler's fiery 67

Rajasthan Royals saw a change in their opening slot as Jos Buttler was promoted up the order to put quick runs on the board. Ajinkya Rahane, the captain who usually opens the innings did not come to bat may be due to his slow innings in the previous match.

Jos Buttler damaged Delhi bowlers to lessen the high asking rate and for a time being, he was successful in doing that. He scored his fastest IPL half-century for Rajasthan Royals which came in just 18 deliveries. He hit 7 sixes to reach that milestone. Jos was absolutely magnificent to watch. Rajasthan after this match will definitely think of promoting him up the order and let his arms free in power play.

Delhi ends RR winning streak
Delhi Daredevils after winning the game has managed to end Rajasthan Royals winning streak. They did not let the visitors win their 8th consecutive match in IPL against them. Delhi Daredevils bowlers kept their nerves to clinch victory over Rajasthan. This was an important victory

Delhi won the match by 4 runs (DLS Method) to be alive in the contest. With Rajasthan losing back to back matches, questions their consistency.

Delhi Daredevils beat Rajasthan Royals
Delhi Daredevils won the match by 4 runs (DLS method) after Rajasthan Royals were asked to make 151 runs in 12 overs. Delhi Daredevils have now three wins in the tournament and now has gone up in the points table. Rajasthan faces a patchy phase as they lose one more encounter. With half of the tournament already been over, it is hard to predict the 4th team to qualify for the playoffs.

Delhi cruised to a very high ranking game after beating Royals at home, they would like to keep the momentum going.
