Chris Gayle's 100

Chris Gayle scored a brilliant hundred for KXIP in his second match of the tournament. Chris Gayle hammered his first century of the season and sixth IPL century to lead Punjab a 15 runs win over Hyderabad. Universe Boss has marked his arrival after scoring a century in just 58 deliveries.

He is a very explosive and attacking opening batsman who can sometimes act like a nightmare for the bowlers. He was unstoppable in today's game with blazing away all over the park with 11 huge sixes. He also had a very quick partnership with Karun Nair to give his team a solid total.

SRH bowlers going all around the park

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers had a very bad and a tough day bowling to one of the best player in the world. They went all over the park with those huge and massive hits from Chris Gayle. Punjab batsmen, Gayle in specific were merciless in today's match leaving no opportunity for SRH bowlers to get back in the game.

Some renowned bowlers like Rashid Khan and Shakib Al Hasan conceded most of the runs and were cruelly beaten by Gayle smashing them all over the park.

Captain Kane's valiant knock of 54

There was a huge target set by Kings XI and plus Hyderabad's opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan left the ground after getting retired hurt it was just to difficult for Hyderabad to chase a mammoth total but captain Kane Williamson played his part after scoring 54 runs for his team.

Kane played a magnificent inning to give his team a sense of joy and hope to win the match but Punjab bowlers were way too good today in the field. Mohit Sharma got rid of the captain after he scored crucial 54 for his team. Williamson's important knock came at a losing cause.

Sunrisers have to look to strengthen their batting line-up as Shikhar Dhawan may be injured and do not feature in the upcoming matches.

Barinder Sran's important spell

Barinder Sran from Kings XI Punjab bowled a crucial spell with just giving away only 9 runs in his first three overs. It was totally a team effort by all the bowlers to not concede as many runs as SRH bowlers did. At one place it was Mujeeb who did not allow Hyderabad to score runs on his bowling and on the other hand it was Rashid Khan to flooded runs like water.

It was crucial for Sran and Mujeeb to restrict Hyderabad as they also have big hitters on their list who can explode anytime.

Hyderabad's first loss of the season

Sunrisers Hyderabad witnessed their first loss of the season after Kings XI thrash them by 15 runs on their own home ground for the very first time in IPL history. Kings XI won the match by 15 runs to seal their first win at home against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Sunrisers have ended their winning streak after losing from confident Kings XI Punjab who is looking good in touch after Gaylestorm hit Mohali. From now onwards Kings XI Punjab will get to play their home matches in Indore stadium whereas Hyderabad will fly back home to play against Chennai Super Kings.
