The team management will announce the new skipper very soon.
Following the ball-tampering controversy in the third Test match in Cape Town against South Africa, David Warner has stepped down as the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Moreover, he has been asked to return to Australia along with his teammates Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft after being ruled out of the final Test in Johannesburg.
Cricket Australia chief James Sutherland has delivered his verdict of the investigation done on the ball tampering issue involving Steve Smith, Cameron Bancroft and David Warner.
James Sutherland apologized to the Australian cricket fans and to Cricket South Africa. He cleared that only Steve Smith, Cameron Bancroft and David Warner had the prior knowledge of intention to tamper with the ball.
With Warner stepping down, Shikhar Dhawan looks the favorite to replace him. SRH also has Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson in their ranks who can replace Warner as the skipper as well.
The official Twitter of Sunrisers Hyderabad has further stated that they will announce the new skipper of the team soon.
“In light of recent events, David Warner has stepped down as captain of SunRisers Hyderabad. The new captain of the Team will be announced shortly.” – K.Shanmugam, CEO, SunRisers Hyderabad
