Dinesh Karthik is the mentor-batting coach of RCB in IPL 2025.
Former England captains Michael Atherton and Naseer Hussain took a funny dig at fellow Sky Sports expert Dinesh Karthik, saying that the ex-India keeper-batter will be over the top if and when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) win the IPL 2025 tournament.
Karthik is the mentor-batting coach of the RCB franchise in IPL 2025 and under his guidance, the franchise has qualified for the final of the tournament. RCB topped the IPL 2025 points table and then defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Qualifier 1 to make it into their fourth IPL tournament final.
There has been talk about how RCB's batting coach Dinesh Karthik could respond if the side wins their first-ever IPL championship, thanks to former England captains Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton.
Nasser Hussain made a joke about Karthik's possible celebration on a Sky Sports podcast and said: "RCB have got through to the finals. If they win that, DK is going to be unbearable. One season as coach/mentor, and he's won it."
Michael Atherton added to the conversation by drawing a parallel to a famous football celebration: "He's unbearable at the best of times, he's going to be doubly unbearable. He'll be like John Terry, at the front of the RCB trophy presentation, holding it there with Virat Kohli."
