LSG posted 235/2 thanks to Marsh's 110 and Pooran's 56*.
The 64th match of the IPL 2025 is being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 22, 2025. GT captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to field first.
However, the decision backfired as LSG batters hammered the GT bowlers on a batting friendly pitch in Ahmedabad. Aiden Markram (36) added 91 runs in 10 overs for the first wicket before being dismissed by Sai Kishore.
But his opening partner Mitchell Marsh carried on to make 117 in 64 balls with 10 fours and 8 sixes to his name. Nicholas Pooran did Pooran things as he smacked 56* in 27 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes, while Rishabh Pant also hammered 16* in 6 balls with 2 sixes, as LSG posted 235/2 in 20 overs.
Things got heated up a bit in the 16th over bowled by Mohammed Siraj when Nicholas Pooran was on the strike. Siraj hit Pooran with two bouncers. The umpire declared the first one a wide and the second a dot ball.
Pooran didn't respond to Siraj's attempts to prod him with words; instead, he had his bat speak for him. The batter simply concentrated on chewing his gum and moved to the non-striker's end to speak with Marsh as Siraj approached Pooran and attempted to sledge him.
Then Pooran hit a four down the middle and smacked Siraj for a stunning six over the cow corner. Pooran used his bat to give Siraj a flying kiss after he had finished the hit for the final boundary.
