The IPL 2025 was interrupted due to military stand-off between India and Pakistan.
The BCCI and IPL management has prepared for the resumption of the IPL 2025 and has drawn up three draft schedules for the same. The final decision for the same is expected to come by Monday, May 12. To finalize the plan for the league's relaunch, the IPL Governing Council will meet this afternoon.
There are still 16 games to be played, including the four playoffs.
One of the three suggested drafts is thought to be the conventional home-and-away schedule for all venues, with the possible exception of Dharamsala. The other two take place in fewer locations, mostly in the southern region of the country, most likely in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
The IPL and BCCI managements have given the franchises subliminal indications to reassemble at their separate bases as soon as possible, even though no formal announcement has been made as of yet. The league is expected to resume later this week, most likely on May 16 or 17.
Although the members of the Governing Council have not yet received any notification of the meeting, it is possible to summon it with as little as fifteen minutes' notice. The league was suspended at the most recent meeting, which was called at 10:45 AM and ended at 11 AM.
BCCI is expected to confine the remainder of IPL 2205 to a few centers, keeping in mind the risk of spreading the league all over the country.
It's doubtful that every foreign player who departed the nation during the tight situation last week will come back to fulfill their obligations. However, the BCCI's main goal at this point is to make sure the league comes to a logical end, even if that means moving forward without all foreign players participating. The scenario is exceptional, to put it mildly.
