Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost a close game to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Bengaluru in the ongoing IPL 2025 the other night and their fans, who were present to watch the defeat, experience rowdiness from the RCB fans outside the venue.
Fifties from Jacob Bethell (55), Virat Kohli (62) and Romario Shepherd (53* in 14 balls), took RCB to 213/5 in 20 overs. Matheesha Pathirana took 3 wickets for CSK.
In reply, Ayush Mhatre slammed 94 in 48 balls and Ravindra Jadeja made 77* in 45 balls as CSK finished on 211/5 in 20 overs. Yash Dayal defended 15 runs in the last ball, despite a six off a no-ball by Shivam Dube.
RCB won the game by 2 runs and now have 8 wins from 11 games and 16 points their name and have one foot in qualification for playoffs.
After the match, several videos went viral in which RCB fans aggressively celebrated in the faces of CSK fans who had come to Bengaluru to support their team.
Outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, a video shows a Chennai Super Kings supporter brandishing an MS Dhoni banner getting into a verbal altercation with two Royal Challengers Bengaluru supporters. The police had to intervene to keep the CSK fan safe.
