Gill didn't have a good time with umpires in this match as he argued after his dismissal as well.
Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill didn’t have a very good time with the officials in their recent IPL 2025 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 2, 2025.
SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl first. Sai Sudharsan continued his good form, scoring 48 in 23 balls with 9 fours. Captain Shubman Gill made 76 with 10 fours and 2 sixes, while Jos Buttler smashed 64 in 37 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes.
GT ended up scoring 224/6 in 20 overs with contributions from other power hitters. Jaydev Unadkat took 3/35 for SRH.
In response, Travis Head made 20 and Ishan Kishan made 13 runs, while Heinrich Klaasen scored 23. Abhishek Sharma carried the lone battle for SRH, scoring 74 in 41 balls with 6 sixes and 4 fours.
In the end, SRH finished on 186/6, but it was GT that won the game by 36 runs. For GT, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna took 2 wickets each.
However, the focus moved to Shubman Gill, who already had a tiff with the reserve umpire when GT batted and he was dismissed run out in a dubious decision.
His collision with umpires continued as he was seen arguing with on-field umpires Virender Sharma and K Swaroopanand in an aggressive manner during SRH innings. The incident happened after Prasidh Krishna bowled the fourteenth over of SRH's innings.
The physio was tending to Abhishek Sharma after he was hit on the boot on the fourth ball. Gill and the umpire had a heated argument because Gill was unhappy with something. Following their conversation, the two umpires gave Gill an explanation.
However, SRH opener Abhishek Sharma, a close buddy from his early years, was urging him to calm down because he was still not persuaded by the explanation.
