Gill scored 76 runs with 10 fours and 2 sixes for GT against SRH in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill was involved in a heated discussion with the 4th umpire after his dubious run out dismissal in the ongoing IPL 2025 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 2, 2025.
Jos Buttler appealed for a fast single after clipping a delivery from Zeeshan Ansari towards short fine leg in the thirteenth over. Harshal Patel ran in, quickly picked up the ball, and threw it flat to the striker's end.
Heinrich Klaasen, the wicketkeeper for SRH, was positioned in front of the stumps and tried to use his gloves to redirect the ball onto them. The dismissal was forwarded upstairs for evaluation since it appeared to be very strict.
The TV umpire verified if Klaasen's gloves or the ball had fractured the stumps. The umpire used a noticeable deviation upon contact with the gloves as proof that the ball had struck the stumps after a number of replays and angles.
Shubman Gill was left dumbstruck at being given out, after scoring 76 runs on 38 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes.
He straight walked to the reserve umpire who was standing near the GT dugout and began arguing with him over the decision. GT director of cricket Vikram Solanki held him back, as Gill continued to plead his case.
