CSK was asked to bat first and posted 190 with Sam Curran top-scoring with 88.
The 49th match of the IPL 2025 saw Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hosting the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 30, 2025, at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. PBKS won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Sam Curran starred with 88 in 47 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes. He got support from Dewald Brevis (32) as CSK posted 190 in 19.2 overs. For PBKS, Chahal starred with 4/32, while Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen picked up two wickets each.
MS Dhoni lit up Chepauk once more, but this time it was a one-handed six into the most recognizable palms. Dhoni began his innings at 172/5 after 17.4 overs, scoring a boundary off Marco Jansen on the first ball he faced.
Dhoni faced Chahal's first delivery and smashed it right down the ground for a six, using only one hand on the bat. The Chepauk fans shouted, but Jadeja stole the show with his antics.
The ball flew towards the CSK dugout, and Jadeja, seated in leisure, calmly caught the ball and celebrated it by holding it aloft, eliciting laughter and acclaim from everyone.
The video of the occasion instantly went viral, with fans appreciating the playfulness from Jadeja.
