KKR defeated DC in Delhi and in aftermath the video of Kuldeep and Rinku went viral.
After the IPL 2025 match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on April 29, DC spinner Kuldeep Yadav caused a huge controversy when he was seen on camera slapping KKR’s Rinku Singh after the match.
Rinku Singh batted well in the team's crucial match against Delhi. The batter scored 36 off 25 balls before getting dismissed in the 18th over of the game to leg spinner Vipraj Nigam.
The incident occurred following the contest, amid the usual contact between players from both sides. Given that both Kuldeep and Rinku represent Uttar Pradesh, the slaps appeared to be friendly barbs shared lightheartedly.
Even BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla was also present when the Kuldeep and Rinku incident happened.

This incident went viral on social media as fans of both Kuldeep and Rinku reacted to the incident of slapping. Many were outraged at how a senior player like Kuldeep could do this to a junior cricketer like Rinku.
However, after much speculation on social media, respective franchises of Kuldeep Yadav and Rinku Singh put out posts to quash the rumors of a rift between the two cricketers.
“Media (????????????????????????????) vs (???????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????????? ????????) Reality! ???????????????????? ???????????????????? feat. our talented UP boys,” KKR stated.
“Only pyaar,” DC posted.
Even Rinku Singh posted a story on his Instagram that included a photo with Kuldeep Yadav calling him "Baby"
