Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest-ever centurion in IPL history on Monday.
Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi lit up the Swaiman Singh Stadium as he hammered the Gujarat Titans (GT) bowlers to become the youngest-ever centurion in IPL history on Monday (April 28).
The 14-year-old raced to his maiden IPL ton in just 35 balls, paving the way for RR’s eight-wicket victory in the chase of 210. The southpaw eventually scored 101 off 38 deliveries before being dismissed by Prasidh Krishna.
Suryavanshi received a thunderous standing ovation from the crowd as he walked back to the pavilion after playing an exhilarating knock, which was laced with seven boundaries and 11 sixes.
The moment he notched up his three-figure mark was pure magic as not only the fans but his teammates in the dugout were also seen celebrating. RR head coach Rahul Dravid too got off his wheelchair to applaud the young sensation.
For the unversed, Dravid has been wheelchair-bound since the start of the season after he injured his right leg while playing cricket with his sons in Bengaluru. In fact, he did not even get up from his wheelchair during post-match handshakes or team practices. But Suryavanshi’s dazzling display threw it all out of the window.

During the course of his whirlwind knock, Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke Yusuf Pathan's 15-year-old record for the fastest IPL hundred by an Indian.
Suryavanshi's ton is the second fastest in the cash-rich league after Chris Gayle's century in 30 balls for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2013.
