There will be no cheerleaders present during the IPL match in Hyderabad.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be paying homage to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack during Match 41 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are due to square off in the game, scheduled for Wednesday (April 23) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
The Pahalgam terror attack, which took the lives of 26 people, has sent shockwaves throughout the country.
In memory of the victims, players and umpires will be sporting black armbands and one minute silence will also be observed before the match. Moreover, no cheerleaders will be present in the ground.
"Players and umpires to wear black armbands in today's match. There will be one minute's silence before the start of the match, and there will be no cheerleaders today, also no fireworks," news agency ANI quoted a BCCI source as saying.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a search operation in the general area of Baisran, Pahalgam, Anantnag, to nab the perpetrators of the attack.
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security meeting with all the agencies following the Pahalgam terror attack. Minister Shah arrived in Srinagar on Tuesday evening for a security review meeting. He said earlier that those involved in this heinous act of terror will not be spared.
