Things have gone from bad to worse for the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Not only did they lose to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their recent IPL 2025 match, but the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad-hoc committee convener has also accused them of match-fixing.
Rajasthan Royals lost by two runs to Lucknow Super Giants in their previous IPL 2025 match on April 19 in Jaipur. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, made his IPL debut and became the competition's youngest player in history. Sanju Samson, RR's normal captain, was out of the playing XI due to injury, and he is unlikely to return for their upcoming encounter in Bengaluru.
Amidst all of this, RR became embroiled in yet another scandal. RR has been accused of match-fixing against LSG. Dravid is now the head coach of RR, which is in eighth place in the IPL 2025 points standings with four points from eight matches, including two wins and six losses.
Speaking to News18 Rajasthan, Jaideep Bihani, convenor of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee, fired shots at RR, sparking a match-fixing issue.
The convener of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee, created by the government, and Sri Ganganagar MLA Jaideep Bihani, have highlighted numerous concerns about the IPL.
His most startling statement was on the Rajasthan Royals' last match. He asked how they lost at home when they only needed a few runs in the final over.
The BJP MLA also accused the franchise of not letting the RCA get involved in the management of the ongoing IPL 2025 season.
“The ad hoc committee has been appointed by the state government in Rajasthan. It has extended for a fifth time. We make sure all competitions take place without any issues. But then just as IPL came, the Zila Parishad (district council) took control of it. For IPL, the BCCI had first sent a letter to RCA only, not Zila Parishad. The excuse given by them and RR is that we don’t have an MOU from the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. If MOU is not there, so what? Aren’t you paying Zila Parishad for every match?” he stated.
