Virat Kohli enjoyed running out Nehal Wadhera and celebrated in style.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) hosted Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Mullanpur in the 37th match of the IPL 2025. PBKS had defeated RCB in Bengaluru in a closely fought game and here, Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Priyansh Arya (22) and Prabhsimran Singh (33) added 42 runs for the first wicket in 4.2 overs giving a flying start to the home team. However, they kept losing wickets consistently, as Shreyas Iyer (6), Nehal Wadhera (5) and Josh Inglis (29) fell in quick succession. Marcus Stoinis was also cleaned up by Suyash Sharma for 1 run.
However, it was the wicket of Nehal Wadhera that was unnecessary. The Punjab Kings shot themselves in the foot when Nehal Wadhera and Josh Inglis had an amazing mix-up while sprinting between the wickets, resulting in a hilarious run-out.
Both batters were seen loitering at the same end of the pitch as Virat Kohli and Tim David combined to run Wadhera out for only 5 runs. Kohli, a member of the fielding squad that achieved the run-out, shocked everyone with his celebration of the wicket.
Understandably overjoyed with the fall of a significant wicket, Kohli seems to have targeted someone with the gesture.
