Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down Punjab Kings' 245 thanks to Head's 66 and Abhishek's 141.
Travis Head got into a heated argument with his fellow Australians Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis in the recent IPL 2025 match between his Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS). The match was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket stadium in Hyderabad on April 12.
The match proved to be a high scoring encounter as bowlers from both sides felt the wrath of some big hitting. PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first.
Iyer led the way with 82 and other like Prabhsimran Singh (42), Priyansh Arya (36) and Marcus Stoinis (34*) contributed as well as PBKS scored 245/6 in 20 overs. While Harshal Patel took 4/42, Mohammad Shami went for 75 runs in his 4 overs.
The SRH response was brutal as Travis Head made 66 with 9 fours and 3 sixes, while Abhishek Sharma ruled the pitch, scoring his maiden IPL ton. He made 141 with 14 fours and 10 sixes as SRH won the match by 8 wickets and 9 balls to spare.
During the SRH innings, a heated exchange happened between Australian cricketers Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, and Marcus Stoinis.
The on-field tension started in the ninth over, when Head struck Maxwell for consecutive sixes. After Head attempted to generate space, Maxwell threw a shorter ball that Head hit back to him, prompting Maxwell to hurl the ball towards the keeper.
Head took exception with Maxwell's actions, prompting a verbal disagreement between the two players. The dispute deteriorated when Stoinis intervened, prompting Head to dismiss him while the umpire urged calm.

Head later downplayed the incident in his statement to broadcasters: "It's all fun. I think they probably bring the best and the worst out of you when you know each other and play each other so much. So, yeah, a bit of friendly banter between us, but it's all good. I got to put up with them at home, so nothing to it."
