RCB, asked to bat first, hammered 221/5 with Kohli and Patidar scoring quick half-centuries.
Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah shared a lovely moment during Monday's IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Mumbai.
Brisk half-centuries by skipper Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli powered Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a competitive 221 for five against Mumbai Indians in their IPL match on Monday.
Patidar, who was invited to bat first, led from the front with a sparkling 64 off 32 balls, while Kohli helped himself to a 42-ball 67 at Wankhede Stadium. Devdutt Padikkal contributed a quick-fire 37 in 22 deliveries as RCB toyed with MI's bowling assault.
Coming in to bat in the 15th over, Jitesh Sharma hit 40 off 19 balls to help RCB finish on a high note. The returning Jasprit Bumrah was MI's best bowler, conceding only 29 runs in four overs.
Virat Kohli looked in excellent form as he hit 67 off 42 deliveries, including a magnificent six off Jasprit Bumrah. Then both the players had a funny banter between them, in which Kohli pushed Bumrah.
Rajat Patidar played the fifth delivery of the 11th over, a Bumrah delivery, right back to the bowler. Bumrah swiftly gathered the ball and tried a run-out from the non-striker's end. It did not result in a dismissal, and when he walked back, Kohli cheekily shoved him away, leaving Bumrah in splits.
