RR will next face PBKS in Chandigarh and CSK will take on DC, both on April 5.
The 11th match of the IPL 2025 saw Rajasthan Royals (RR) taking on Chennai Super Kings on March 30, 2025. This was their 3rd and final game at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati and they came into this clash after losing the first two matches to SRH and KKR.
CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and chose to bowl first. The RR innings was held together by Nitish Rana, who made 81 in 36 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes. Riyan Parag (37) and Sanju Samson (20) were the other main contributors.
RR posted 182/9 in 20 overs. For CSK, Khaleel Ahmed, Noor Ahmad, and Matheesha Pathirana took 2 wickets each.
Jofra Archer got Rachin Ravindra out for a duck and then CSK went into buildup mode. Rahul Tripathi was dismissed for 23 by Wanindu Hasaranga. Hasaranga also dismissed the impact sub Shivam Dube for 18 runs, thanks to an amazing catch by captain Riyan Parag.
Ruturaj Gaikwad made 63 in 44 balls and held the innings together until he fell to Hasaranga as well. Ravindra Jadeja made 32* in 22 balls, while MS Dhoni, batting at 7, scored 16 runs. However, some good bowling at the death by Sandeep Sharma kept CSK to 176/6 and won the game by 6 runs.
Wanindu Hasaranga starred with the bowl, taking 4/35, as RR got onto the points table with a win. Nitish Rana was given the Player of the Match award.
CSK will now return to Chennai, where they will face DC on April 5 in a day game, and RR will face PBKS on the same day in Mullanpur in a night game.
The cricket fraternity was all praises for RR's maiden win this season and highlighted the performances of the team as a whole on social media.
