Kolkata police requested CAB officials to move the match due to festivities in the city.
On March 28, 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the rescheduling of Match 19 of the IPL 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), which was originally scheduled for Sunday, April 6, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The decision follows a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) for the deployment of officers throughout the city due to festivities.
The authorities advised that the game be changed to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:30 PM, and the request has been accommodated. The rest of the schedule is unaltered.
Sunday, April 6, will now be a single-game day, with Sunrisers Hyderabad visiting Gujarat Titans at 7:30 PM (Match No. 20), as previously scheduled.
Tuesday, April 8, will be a double-header match day, with KKR v LSG in the afternoon in Kolkata and Punjab Kings facing Chennai Super Kings (Match No. 22) in New Chandigarh in the evening, as planned.
