The review confirmed that Dhoni’s instincts were spot on.
When MS Dhoni decides to take a review, the verdict comes in his favour more often than not. No wonder, the fans have dubbed DRS as "Dhoni Review System."
During the IPL 2025 clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Chepauk on Sunday (March 23), Dhoni was at it again and Mitchell Santner became a victim on this occasion.
In the 18th over of MI’s innings, Nathan Ellis struck Santner on the pads. While the on-field umpire remained unmoved, Dhoni’s quiet nod was all it took for the CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad to take the review.
The big screen soon confirmed that Dhoni’s instincts were spot on. The ball was crashing into the top of middle stump, resulting in Santner walking back to the pavilion for 11 off 13 balls.
As the decision flashed ‘OUT,’ Ellis turned straight to Dhoni in celebration, acknowledging the veteran wicketkeeper’s impeccable call.
