Rishabh Pant, who began his IPL career at Delhi Capitals, bid an emotional goodbye to the franchise and fans a day after the IPL 2025 mega auction. Also, DC co-owner JSW’s Parth Jindal sent a heartfelt message to the former franchise captain.

Rishabh Pant was released by the DC franchise ahead of the mega auction, and the keeper-batter made history after Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) forked out INR 27 Cr for him on day one of the event in Saudi Arabia.

This made Rishabh the most expensive buy ever in IPL auction history, surpassing Mitchell Starc’s INR 24.75 Cr buy by KKR in IPL 2024 auction.

Parth Jindal took to X on Tuesday, November 26, to send a meaningful message to Rishabh Pant. Jindal referred to Pant as his brother, claiming he has always regarded him as part of his family. The co-owner then wished Pant the best of luck in his future ambitions and hoped to see him again soon.

"To Rishabh Pant, you are and will always remain my younger brother - from the bottom of my heart I love you and I have tried everything to make sure you are happy and have treated you like my family. I am very sad to see you go and I am very emotional about it. You will always be in DC and I hope one day we can reunite. Thank you for everything Rishabh and remember that we will always love you - go well champ, the world is at your feet. Best wishes from all of us at Delhi Capitals - other than when you play DC I will be cheering and hoping for the best for you!" Parth Jindal wrote on X.

Rishabh Pant spent 9 years at DC since making his debut in IPL 2016. He played 111 matches and scored 3284 runs at a strike rate of 148.39 and the highest score of 128*. He has hit 154 sixes and 396 fours. He also has taken 75 catches and 23 stumpings.

Rishabh Pant also took to X and bid an emotional goodbye to the franchise and its fans.

"Goodbyes are never easy. The journey with Delhi Capitals has been nothing short of amazing. From the thrills on the field to the moments off it, I’ve grown in ways I never imagined. I came here as a teenager and we grew together over the last nine years.

What made this journey all worthwhile is you, the fans. You’ve embraced me, cheered for me and stood by me in one of the toughest phases of my life. As I move on, I carry your love and support in my heart. I’ll look forward to entertain you whenever I take the field. Thank you for being my family and making this journey so special," he further added.
