The second day of the IPL 2025 mega auction is currently taking place in Jeddah, with 577 cricketers vying for 204 vacant slots in the 10 franchise teams.

On Sunday (November 24), only 84 players went under the hammer and the likes of Shreyas Iyer (INR 26.75 Crore to PBKS), Rishabh Pant (INR 27 Crore to LSG), Venkatesh Iyer (INR 23.75 Crore to KKR) and Yuzvendra Chahal (INR 18 Crore to PBKS) hogged the headlines with their whopping price tags.

While the first day saw fierce bidding war in the first few sets, the second day started with some of the big names like Kane Williamson, Prithvi Shaw, Daryl Mitchell, Shardul Thakur among others going unsold at the grand auction.

However, the set of capped fast bowlers turned things around as the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Mukesh Kumar and Akash Deep bagged massive bids.

Bhuvneshwar, who was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier this month, found a new home in Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants were involved in a bidding war for the seamer before RCB entered the scene and bought him for INR 10.75 Crore. His base price was INR 2 Crore.

Chahar, who entered into the auction with a base price of INR 2 Crore, was roped in by Mumbai Indians for INR 9.25 Crore. He was associated with CSK for the last seven years.

Mukesh and Akash secured a deal with the Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants for INR 8 Crore, respectively. Mukesh’s starting price was INR 2 Crore and DC exercised RTM on him, while former RCB pacer Akash’s base price was INR 1 Crore.
