The highly anticipated day one of IPL 2025 mega auction is being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24, 2024. As many as 577 players are up for grabs for 204 open spots, as all ten organizations try to finalize their rosters before the league's 18th season.
Mohammed Siraj was the first name out in the second set and Gujarat Titans started the bidding process with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) competing. CSK backed out at INR 8.50 Cr, and then RR entered the fray, with GT staying firm.
Titans then raised the bid to INR 12.25 Cr and RR backed out. RCB were given the chance to use their RTM card, but they declined and Mohammed Siraj will not play for GT in the IPL 2025.
Liam Livingstone, the England dasher was up next and RCB and SRH got into a bidding war. CSK then entered the fray at INR 7 Cr. RCB stayed put and eventually, CSK backed out. Punjab Kings didn’t use their RTM card and RCB bought Livingstone for INR 8.75 Crs.
The last name of the second set was KL Rahul. And his former franchises LSG and RCB started the bidding, with KKR and CSK eventually joining the war. Then KKR took the bid to INR 10.75 Cr and then RCB backed out.
But then Delhi Capitals came in with 11 Crs and CSK began bidding, taking the bid to INR 14 Cr. Then CSK backed out and LSG decided not to use their RTM card. Delhi Capitals got KL Rahul for INR 14 Crs.
