The BCCI on Tuesday (November 5) unveiled the dates for the IPL 2025 mega auction. A total of 1,574 players (1,165 Indian and 409 overseas) have registered for the auction, which will be held over two days on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The list features 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 players from Associate Nations.

According to a report published in ESPNCricinfo, England all-rounder Ben Stokes’ name is missing from the list of registered players. The long list will be trimmed after consultations with the franchises.

The report also claimed Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer - released captains of Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively - have been listed with a base price of INR 2 crore. The spin twin of R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, who were both released by Rajasthan Royals, also have the same base price.

The other Indian players with the highest base price of INR 2 crore are Mohammad Shami, Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan, Ishan Kishan, Mukesh Kumar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, T Natarajan, Devdutt Padikkal, Krunal Pandya, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav.

Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan, who have fallen behind in the race after an impressive start to their IPL careers, have registered at a base price of INR 75 lakh.

Australia’s left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc, who was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders for a hefty sum of INR 24.50 crore in last year’s auction, has set a base price of INR 2 crore.

Meanwhile, legendary England seamer James Anderson, who has retired from international cricket and has never participated in the IPL, has thrown his hat into the auction ring at a base price of INR 1.25 crore. His last T20 appearance was more than 10 years ago when he played in the Natwest T20 Blast match between Lancashire and Warwickshire.

The long list also includes a player from Italy, Thomas Draca, who was recently picked by MI Emirates for the ILT20 in the UAE.
