October 31 is the deadline for retentions ahead of the IPL 2025 grand auction.
According to the report, the two players will be completing SRH’s set of five retained players, the deadline for which is October 31.
Earlier this month, the same website reported that Heinrich Klaasen (INR 23 crore), Pat Cummins (18 crore) and Abhishek Sharma (14 crore) will be SRH’s first three retentions. Head is understood to be retained for INR 14 crore while Reddy will get INR 6 crore.
Both Head and Reddy played a critical role in SRH’s stellar IPL 2024 campaign, where the side made it to their first final in six years.
Head amassed 567 runs at an incredible strike rate of 191.6, including four half-centuries and a hundred. Reddy was brilliant in the middle order, scoring 303 runs at a strike rate of 142.9. He also picked three wickets with the ball.
Reddy’s heroics also earned him the India cap as he made his T20I debut against Bangladesh earlier this month. He slammed 74 off 34 balls in the second T20I in Delhi, winning the Player of the Match award and is selected in India’s 18-man squad for the upcoming five-Test tour of Australia.
Sunrisers have spent a total of INR 75 crore on the five retentions so far. As per the rules, the franchise has completed the permitted quota of five capped retentions.
The IPL 2016 champions now will have INR 45 crore left in their kitty for the next month’s grand auction, where they can use the Right To Match (RTM) option to draft an uncapped player back into their squad.
