Gujarat Titans’ (GT) head coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki are likely to part ways with the franchise ahead of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Both Nehra and Solanki have been associated with GT since their inaugural season in 2022. Under their guidance, the Titans lifted the trophy in debut year and followed it up with another final appearance in 2023.

According to a report published in CricketNext, the name of Yuvraj Singh is doing rounds to join the coaching set-up of GT but no final decision has been made yet.

If the report is to be believed there will be a lot of changes in the backroom staff of the side as Gary Kirsten, the team mentor, has already moved on after taking a full-time coaching of the Pakistan cricket team.

“Lot of changes on the cards. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are highly likely to move on and discussions around Yuvraj Singh have already begun. Nothing is finalised right now but there could be some major changes in the coaching staff of the Gujarat Titans,” a source close to developments quoted as saying by CricketNext.

GT’s coaching staff also includes the names of Aashish Kapoor, Naeem Amin, Narender Negi and Mithun Manhas and some of them could be exploring other teams too.

After dominating the first two seasons, Gujarat Titans endured a forgettable season in 2024 where they finished in eighth position under new captain Shubman Gill.

Hardik Pandya’s trade to Mumbai Indians meant GT failed to get their combination right and the absence of star pacer Mohammad Shami due to an injury didn’t help their cause either.

The next few weeks are going to be fascinating as the Titans are likely to finalise their coaching staff.
