IPL 2024: Canadian rapper Drake places his 'first ever cricket bet' on KKR ahead of IPL final against SRH

The IPL 2024 final is all set to be held at Chepauk on May 26.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final is all set to be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (May 26). Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will square off in the title clash.

Ahead of the final, renowned Canadian rapper, Drake, has placed a USD 250,000 bet on KKR lifting the IPL trophy by defeating SRH.

This will be Drake's first-ever cricket bet. He has previously gained attention for his significantly high bets on different sorts of sports, be it basketball, American Football or Rugby.

The 37-year-old shared a screenshot of his bet receipt on Instagram story, which has only amplified the excitement around the IPL 2024 final.

KKR hold a significant edge over SRH in this year’s IPL. The Shreyas Iyer-led side emerge victorious in both of their group stage matches against SRH and then registered another victory over them in Qualifier 1.

While Pat Cummins's side has caught everyone’s attention for their explosive batting display in the ongoing IPL season, the likes of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen have been majorly ineffective against the KKR bowling unit.

After losing to KKR in Qualifier 1, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 36 runs in Qualifier 2 to enter into the IPL 2024 final for the first time in six years.
