RCB have set RR 173-run target to win the Eliminator.
Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bowl first. There was not a huge score by any RCB batter, but small contributions that took the team to a competitive total.
Virat Kohli (33), Rajat Patidar (34), and Mahipal Lomror (32) were the main contributors as RCB posted 172/8 in 20 overs. Avesh Khan picked 3/44, while R Ashwin took two wickets.
In reply, RR lost Tom Cohler-Cadmore for 20 runs, while Sanju Samson made 17 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was looking in good touch before he was out for 45 runs, off Cameron Green’s bowling.
Riyan Parag needed some assistance at the other end and Dhruv Jurel provided the same. Jurel looked like set to take RR near the target but fell to the brilliance of Virat Kohli’s fielding.
Riyan Parag smacked the ball towards the front of the square on the on side of the bowling of Cameron Green. Parag had called for two and was running fast, but Jurel was ambling through for the second run.
Virat Kohli patrolling the boundary on the leg side, saw Jurel taking it easy and pounced on the ball like a Cheetah and returned a brilliant throw to Green, who broke the stumps in one swift motion.
The decision went to the TV umpire and replays showed that Jurel’s bat was just centimeters out of the crease, when Green broke the stumps. Jurel was deemed out and Kohli showcased his quickness despite his age.
