RCB defeated CSK by 27 runs to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans were over the moon after the team defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and qualified for the playoffs of the IPL 2024 tournament. RCB made an amazing comeback as they had lost 7 of their first 8 matches, but won the last 6 of their encounters.
RCB batted first after losing the toss and posted 218/5 in 20 overs with Faf du Plessis making 54 and Virat Kohli scoring 47 runs. In response, despite Rachin Ravindra’s 61 and Ravindra Jadeja’s 42*, CSK only managed 191/7 and lost by 27 runs.
Bengaluru, it seems, didn't sleep on Saturday night. With it being a weekend, the party got all the harder as fans of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stormed the streets and neighborhood in the Karnataka capital to celebrate well past midnight.
Videos of RCB fans thronging the streets in Bengaluru to celebrate have gone viral since Saturday night. In one such video clip floating on social media, it's well past midnight and RCB fans were still on the streets, chanting "Kohli, Kohli".
The other three playoffs’ berths had already been decided as KKR, RR, and SRH qualified for the final four and now RCB has completed the knockouts list. RCB will play in the Eliminator on May 22 in Ahmedabad.
