As Gujarat was put into bat, Bengaluru pacers stepped up and bowled them out for 147 runs in 19.3 overs. Mohammed Siraj was the star with 2/29, while Yash Dayal and Vijaykumar Vyshak also took two wickets each.

Bengaluru skipper Faf du Plessis then led the way with 64 off 23 balls, helping the hosts end on 152-6 in 13.4 overs. Kohli hit 42 runs off 27 balls and had an opening partnership of 92 with du Plessis in 5.5 overs.
