The former CSK skipper has admirers among all age groups.
Recently, Dhoni made his 103-year-old superfan S Ramdas happy by gifting him a signed jersey. In a video shared by CSK on social media, Dhoni was also seen writing a message on the jersey, which was eventually received by Ramdas.
After receiving the signed shirt, a wide smile broke out on the old man’s face who joined his hands together to thank this wonderful gesture. "Thanks Thatha for the support," the message on the shirt read.
Last week, Ramdas gained recognition after CSK posted a video of him on X, where the 103-year-old was seen expressing his love for CSK and Dhoni.
In the video, Ramdas's son was seen speaking to his father, who used to serve the British Military.
“While I was studying in school, I was interested in cricket. But I was also afraid of getting hit. I used to bowl. I love cricket...I watch it on TV. 20 overs games finish quickly. They don’t drag on. I like it," Ramdas had said.
Defending champions CSK have had a mixed IPL 2024 season. They have won five of their 10 matches so far.
Chennai Super Kings will face Punjab Kings in their next match at Mullanpur on May 5.
