IPL 2024: Cricket fraternity reacts as KL Rahul's amazing 82 powers LSG to 8-wicket win over CSK

Quinton de Kock also made a half-century, sharing 134-run opening stand with Rahul.

The 34th match of the IPL 2024 was played between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 19. The match was hosted at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

KL Rahul of LSG won the toss and decided to bowl first. CSK lost Rachin Ravindra for a golden duck to a Mohsin Khan beauty. Ruturaj Gaikwad (17) and Ajinkya Rahane (36) returned to the pavilion following a brief collaboration. After their dismissals, CSK lost two quick wickets: Shivam Dube (3) and Sameer Rizvi (1).

Ravindra Jadeja (57*) and Moeen Ali (30) added 51 runs for the sixth wicket. However, MS Dhoni's 9-ball 28* cameo at the end helped CSK reach 176/6 in 20 overs.

In response, Quinton de Kock (54) and KL Rahul (82) contributed 134 runs for the first wicket, putting LSG ahead. The duo effortlessly hit the CSK bowlers into all corners of the Lucknow ground. De Kock smashed five fours and one six, while Rahul hit nine fours and three sixes in his innings.

Following their removal, Nicholas Pooran (23*) and Marcus Stoinis (8*) sealed an easy 8-wicket victory for LSG, who finished on 180/2 with one over to spare.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for KL Rahul and the LSG team for a convincing win over CSK.
