RR was asked to bat first and they posted 196/3 in 20 overs.
Shubman Gill, GT captain won the toss and chose to bowl first. Rajasthan Royals posted 196/3 in 20 overs, despite losing Yashasvi Jaiswal for 24 and Jos Buttler for 8 with 42 runs on the board.
But Riyan Parag and captain Sanju Samson added 130 runs for the third wicket. Parag made 76 in 48 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes, while Samson scored 68* and powered the team to a formidable total.
As the GT bowlers were leaking runs in the second half of the RR innings, captain Shubman Gill looked furious. He even got into a heated argument with umpire Vinod Seshan.
The incident happened in the 17th over bowled by GT's Mohit Sharma. The final delivery of the over was given wide as Gill went upstairs for DRS. On that delivery, batter Sanju Samson moved a little outside off to play the ball.
The third umpire initially ruled it a fair delivery before calling it wide. Gill was extremely angry by this judgment, and he had a lengthy agitated conversation with umpire Vinod Seshan. However, the wide call stayed on.
