SRH was asked to bat first and posted 182/9 in 20 overs.
The home team captain, Shikhar Dhawan, won the toss and chose to bowl first. Arshdeep Singh gave an excellent start, dismissing Travis Head (21) and Aiden Markram (0). SRH were in trouble at 39/3 and then 64/4 in 10 overs.
But in the last 10 overs, Nitish Kumar Reddy (64 in 37 balls), Abdul Samad (12), and other contributions powered SRH to 182/9 in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh starred with 4/29, while Sam Curran and Harshal Patel took two wickets each.
In reply, PBKS started poorly as Pat Cummins clean bowled Jonny Bairstow for a duck and Bhuvneshwar Kumar got rid of dangerous Prabhsimran Singh and Shikhar Dhawan (14).
Sam Curran tried to take the attack to SRH bowlers and made 29 with 2 fours and 2 sixes, but then fell to an excellent catch by SRH skipper Pat Cummins.
T. Natarajan, in the 10th over, bowled a length ball on the off-stump, and Curran only managed to hit the ball in the air towards mid-off. However, it seemed like the ball would evade Cummins stationed there. But the big man used his height to perfection and took an excellent catch over his head, jumping in the air.
