IPL 2024: WATCH- Shah Rukh Khan gives DC captain Rishabh Pant a hug after KKR’s demolition job

KKR posted 272/7 against DC and won the game by 106 runs.

Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant was a dejected figure in Vizag on April 3 after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) routed them by 106 runs in the ongoing IPL 2024 tournament. KKR hammered the DC bowlers to all parts of the Vizag stadium and then the bowlers decimated the DC batting lineup.

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first. Sunil Narine with 85, Angkrish Raghuvanshi with 54 on IPL debut, and cameos by Andre Russell (41) and Rinku Singh (26) took KKr to 272/7 in 20 overs. This is the second-highest score in the IPL history behind SRH’s 277 runs.

Anrich Nortje took 3 wickets and Ishant Sharma took two scalps.

In reply, Tristan Stubbs with 54 and Rishabh Pant with 55 were the only DC batters to stand up to KKR bowlers as DC was bowled out for 166 runs and lost by 106 runs. Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy picked three wickets each for KKR.

Rishabh Pant showcased his entire range of strokes despite playing only his 4^th game since returning to cricket after 14 months due to his car accident. Pant hammered 4 fours and 5 sixes and one of his sixes was a no-look six to Venkatesh Iyer.

After the match, KKR co-owner and Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan was impressed with the fight DC captain Rishabh Pant showed. Pant scored his second consecutive fifty in this IPL 2024. SRK and Pant had a candid chat on the ground after the match concluded which made fans emotional.

The Bollywood legend hugged Pant and let know of his admiration for him as the two entertainers had a beautiful moment on the field.
