His stellar middle-over spell comprised nine 150-plus thunderbolts and three wickets, for 27 runs, as the cricket fraternity watched the young Indian pacer in awe.

On Monday, Coetzee breathed fire as MI tried to defend a paltry target of 126 runs. As Riyan Parag was shepherding RR's chase after early wickets, Coetzee bowled a snorter at 157.4 kph on the last ball of RR’s chase. The delivery was faced by Riyan Parag, who had just completed a match-winning fifty.
The ball went over Parag and keeper Ishan Kishan’s head and went for a boundary.
Coetzee narrowly missed the record for the fastest ball ever in IPL history, which was bowled by Shaun Tait. Tait bowled a delivery at 157.7 kph in the 2011 IPL while playing for RR and was faced by Aaron Finch, who then played for Delhi Capitals.
