MS Dhoni turned the clock back in his first outing with the bat in this IPL 2024. Chennai Super Kings might have fallen short of the target set by Delhi Capitals in Vizag on Sunday, but Dhoni made sure everyone in the stadium got their money’s worth.

Earlier DC had decided to bat first and thanks to fifties by David Warner and Rishabh Pant, posted 191/5 in 20 overs. Matheesha Pathirana took 3/31 for CSK.

In reply, CSK openers failed for the first time in this tournament and though Ajinkya Rahane (45) and Daryl Mitchell (34) tried to bring CSK back into the game, the asking rate went beyond their grasp. But in the death overs, Ravindra Jadeja with 21*, and especially MS Dhoni with 37* in 16 balls, gave the fans a show.

Dhoni in particular was impressive, hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes in his knock as CSK made 171/6 and lost by 20 runs.

During this while, Dhoni took down a few records while he entertained the crowd in Visakhapatnam with his stupendous display of strokeplay.

Here are the records that MS Dhoni made in the CSK vs DC clash:
