Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) swashbuckling all-rounder Andre Russell came out in support of his head coach, Chandrakant Pandit, amidst criticisms regarding his coaching methods.

Recently, former KKR all-rounder David Wiese, who is presently representing Namibia, labeled Pandit's style as "militant." Wiese also claimed that several foreign players within KKR's squad felt frustrated by Pundit’s stringent coaching style during the last IPL season.

Now, reacting to Wiese’s controversial statement, the Jamaican legend, who has been a key figure within KKR's core group for a long time now, said that players have to adjust to the coach's philosophy, and Pundit is doing a really amazing job with the franchise.

Andre Russell said at the pre-match press conference: “We've been working with him from last year. I think when you're working with a coach for the first time, you have to make sure that you adjust to their philosophy. There have to be rules. We are professionals. So, we don't complain.”

Russell further mentioned, “I try to do the best for this franchise. He's been doing an amazing job, and we've got coming back as well.”

Notably, KKR will next take on Royal Challengers Bangaluru (RCB) in the 10th game of the ongoing IPL 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
