India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who sustained an ankle injury during the World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh, recently made his return to competitive cricket with the DY Patil T20 Cup 2024 for Reliance.

Pandya will also be leading Mumbai Indians (MI) in the upcoming IPL season. He returned to MI following a high-profile trade from Gujarat Titans (GT), whom he led in the past two seasons with great success.

Ahead of the IPL 2024, Hardik Pandya featured on the Star Sports show 'Star Nahi Far' and relieved his journey with MI, where he started his top-flight cricket career back in 2015.

During the show, some questions related to Hardik's time with MI were thrown at the crowd, who took part in the quiz. While the first question was a simple one about Hardik's highest score in the IPL, the second question was about the all-rounder’s total number of half-centuries scored in the tournament and it left the crowd stuttered.

However, when the right answer – 10 – was screamed at by the public, even Hardik was amazed as he said: “I have that many? Wow”.

When Hardik Pandya was then asked to pick his favourite of them all, he replied, “I don't like the innings where we lost.”

No wonder, Pandya discarded his 21-ball 60 against Rajasthan Royals from IPL 2020 since MI had lost that game.

“We lost that too. I don't believe in 50s or 100s. Stats are just numbers; it's a waste of time,” he remarked.

While Hardik Pandya may not be a big fan of stats, he boasts some pretty impressive numbers in the IPL. The all-rounder has amassed 2309 runs from 123 matches at an average of 30.38 and strike rate of 14586. With the ball, Pandya has taken 53 wickets but most importantly he has won the IPL five times, including one as a captain of the Gujarat Titans side in 2022.
