Pant has arrived in Dubai for the IPL 2024 auction, scheduled for December 19. The southpaw will be the first active player to be part of the auction process.
Rishabh Pant, 26, has never attended a similar event and he is super excited for it.
"It is something new and exciting. I haven't been a part of the auction process before. I am looking forward to it," Pant stated in a video posted by Delhi Capitals.
"Doing much better than what I was doing a few months ago. Still on recovery to 100 per cent, but in a few months time I will be able to do it," he added.
Sharing an update on his recovery, the left-hander said: "It has been really amazing because whenever we keep playing cricket we feel no one loves us because there is so much pressure. Yes it was a hard time, but at least I got to know that people love and respect me and kind of kind of concern that they showed by heartwarming and crazy for me. It means a lot and helped a lot in recovery."
Last month, DC's team director Sourav Ganguly confirmed that Rishabh Pant will feature in the upcoming IPL season.
“He’s (Pant) good now. He will play in the IPL next season,” Ganguly had said in an interaction with reporters.
In Pant’s absence, David Warner led the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023 edition. The Delhi-based franchise endured a dismal campaign, finishing the season in the ninth position on the points table featuring 10 teams.
Rishabh Pant was last seen in action during the tour of Bangladesh in December 2022. Mirpur Test against Bangladesh was his last appearance before he met with the accident.
