Mumbai Indians (MI) traded Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday.
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green enthusiastically expressed his eagerness to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).
Notably, the Mumbai Indians (MI) traded Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday, November 27, a day after the retention process closed on Sunday.
MI spent a whopping Rs 17.5 crore to acquire the services of Cameron Green at the IPL 2023 auction last December. The Australian all-rounder didn’t disappoint the MI, as he scored 452 runs with the help of an unbeaten century and two half-centuries. He also took six wickets in his debut season.
However, in their pursuit to get back Hardik Pandya, MI needed a bigger purse and hence they traded Green to RCB and then got Pandya in trade from GT, in all-cash deals.
Meanwhile, after sealing the deal with the Faf du Plessis-led side, Green said that he is really excited to work with Andy Flower and play in Bengaluru.
Cameron Green said in a video posted by RCB on X: “Hey RCB fans, it is Cam Green here, I am excited to join Andy Flower (the team's head coach). I can't wait to see you guys at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, cheers.”
