Ahmed Shehzad, the Pakistani cricketer, has shared his opinion on the ugly spat between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor Gautam Gambhir in the recent IPL 2023 and said that Gambhir should say sorry to Kohli.

During the second innings of the IPL game between the two sides, Kohli and LSG bowler Naveen-Ul-Haq got into an altercation on the field. After RCB won the match, the Afghanistan pacer was also spotted engaging in spirited conversation during the post-match formalities.

Kyle Mayers and Kohli were also seen exchanging words before LSG coach Gambhir led the West Indies all-rounder away from the situation. But after that, Gambhir confronted Kohli, the situation deteriorated and a fight broke out.

See this is not my work, but I am giving my opinion only because you have asked me. I might be wrong. From the outside, I think it was Gambhir’s mistake. If he wants to show his nobility, Gautam Gambhir should call Virat Kohli on his phone and apologize.

If Gambhir does that, yes, we will agree that he came out as the bigger man, how much he loves Virat Kohli, how he gave away his Man of the Match award to him,” Shehzad said on the Nadir Ali podcast.

He continued by saying that it was the first time he had witnessed a team manager engage in an aggressive argument with an opposing player on the pitch, and it didn't look good.

See from outside, it looks bad. In my life, I have never seen a member of any team’s management jump into a battle between players. I have never seen such a thing," he added.
