IPL 2023: “He's already a King” - Lucknow Super Giants appreciate Shubman Gill; fans say the only King is Virat Kohli

Gujarat Titans (GT) will be clashing with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Qualifier 1 in the ongoing IPL 2023 tournament which is slowly reaching its peak. The two champion teams will clash in Chennai on May 23, 2023.

A total of four teams—the Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, and Mumbai Indians—have qualified for the last four. With 10 wins in 14 league stage matches of the IPL 2023, defending champions Gujarat Titans finished at the top of the IPL 2023 points table for the second straight season.

A win against CSK at the MA Chidambaram Stadium will take GT to the final, and if they lose, they will get a second chance to reach the summit clash by facing the winner of the eliminator match in qualifier two.

GT is coming into this crunch match by defeating and eliminating Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets in the last league match of IPL 2023. In the match, opener Shubman Gill scored 104* his second consecutive century in the tournament, helping GT chase 197-run target with five balls to spare.

Gill’s inning overshadowed Virat’s record seventh IPL century, which he scored during the first half of the same match. IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants took to Twitter to laud the GT star.

They posted a picture of Gill and captioned it, "Prince? He's already a King."

The post won fans' hearts and they reacted to the same as well on the social media platform. Some did take offense on Gill being called King, as they said that the only King is Virat Kohli and trolled LSG admin.
