RCB defeated SRH by 8 wickets to move to 4th on points table.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clashed in Match 65 of the IPL 2023 on Thursday (May 18) in Hyderabad. SRH were already eliminated from the playoffs race, while RCB needed a win to stay in contention.
RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bowl first as Heinrich Klaasen smashed a magnificent maiden IPL hundred, to finish with 104 off 51 balls as SRH posted 186/5 on the board.
In reply, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis provided a great start to RCB and never took their foot off the accelerator to let SRH come back into the contest. The duo added 172 for the first wicket, with Kohli scoring exactly 100, his sixth IPL hundred and Du Plessis scored 71 as RCB won by 8 wickets with four balls to spare to move to fourth on the table.
Kohli's knock was a vintage one, as he unleashed some of his best shots to leave SRH bowlers searching for answers to the batting genius. One particular shot of Kohli's for six off Nitish Reddy left even the RCB captain at the other end in awe as the ball traveled 103 metres into the stands.

RCB will play Gujarat Titans in their last league stage match on Sunday in Bengaluru, and will probably need to win that as well to qualify if Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday.
